I know I'll take heat for this, BUT..
I seriously believe Marty must go - NOW. Fire his tail after tomorrow's game and be done with the whole sorry mess.
This guy is NOT head coaching material, IMHO.
I had a talk with someone the other day who said 'Marty's doing a great job!'. I looked at him like he had two heads..great job? With a bunch of the same guys who were decent players and had a decent record last year? Um, NO. 'Great job' does NOT equal 1 and 15 (and, yes, we will be 1 and 15 after the Cowboys annhiliate us tomorrow).
Marty has made a complete and total mess of this organization, and has gotten NOWHERE. Oh, wait - actually, he HAS gotten somewhere: BACKWARDS.
Marty - don't let the door hit ya in the a$$ on the way out, friend. Go back to something you do well. Head coaching AIN'T IT!

Yeah... um... okay. Weren't you the one who said that Batch wasn't being givin long enough in the WCO to learn it before he was yanked? Haven't I heard repeatedly that the WCO is a complex offense that requires time (I think Farve said four years) to really understand?
Yeah, I agree. That's what I mean when I say implimenting a new scheme. The players need to learn the new play book, memorize which plays are ment with which vocabulary and become proficient in those plays.
True, kind of. You mention there were a few glaring areas where the receivers weren't where they were supposed to be. But how many times was one receiver not where he was supposed to be and so the ball needed to be thrown somwhere else, or thrown away, or not thrown at all (sack/scramble)?
How many additional plays was 'Weg able or not able to put in the play book because the players did or did not memorize enough in practices?

'Compared to Sly Croom - yes. But, as we have seen from the 49'ers this year and what their WR Owens said this year: We finally have an OC who knows what he's doing...'
Your actually going to use Terrel Owens as a source? That ass shoots his mouth off about everything. He even attacked his own coach for coaching soft against the Bears, all because Mariucci used to coach with the Jauron. Its pretty obvious to me that Owens talks before he thinks.
'HOPEFULLY, he (Morninweg) won't be pulling starters out of games to play his rookies. I got incensed every time one of his rookie picks got playing time during games.'
You must have been really pissed when Batch replaced Mitchell after only 2 games a couple years back. And what about Shaun Rogers? Did he not earn his time as a starter? Backus took his lumps this year, but he got some valuable experience as a rookie.
'It's one thing if it's a blowout and the Lions are leading 48-14 in the 4Q; but its another to yank out starters to play rookies when you're trying to win a football game.'
I do agree with you on this. It made little sense to pull Batch and put McMahon in for only one series.
'I don't give a damn what ANYONE says... Playing time is EARNED - it pisses off the vets )who've busted their asses to play at their level) and gives the rookies playing time they haven't deserved. It's BAD for the team all the way around!' DY
But were you at the team practise? I wasn't. Thats where a player earns his playing time, not in a NG post.
