I dunno... Oakland's picks are pretty far down the list and the Lions needs a big talent guy who can make a impact from Game One.
On the other hand, the Lions have a lot of holes to fill, and two first round choiced mean you have a good chance of getting good (if not great) bodies to plug those holes.
On the first hand, you have one shot at one big play guy, who might be a bust, or might be great. They guy might break a leg in practice and never play a down until next year. Or, he might be a fantastic guy who really impacts the game.
On the other hand, with two good (rather than great) guys, you might not see a major impact from them, but if one guy turns out to be a bust, your first round wasn't a complete waste cause you got that other first rounder as well...
All in all... I just don't know. I haven't reviewed the draft enough to know if there will be quality guys who fit our needs near the picks that Oakland has. I guess I don't have enough knowledge to make an evaluation on it really, but my inclination would be to do it, especially if I can coax another 5th or 6th (or even a 7th) round pick out of Oakland.

I'm leaning towards M&M trading the 3rd pick...maybe to Dallas.

DY doesn't know enough about college football to have an opinion on the draft (his words, not mine).
If you're asking my opinion (and you weren't), no way in heck is Dallas going to make that deal. They can sit back at #6 and take whichever of Jammer or Williams falls to them.
Most likely trading partner at this point is the Bengals, who may need to move ahead of Buffalo and K.C. to get Harrington if they want him. I doubt M&M want to move all the way back to #10 however, and I don't think the notoriouisly cheap Bengals really want to move up and take another big-bonus, high-draft pick QB. All signs point to the Lions keeping the pick.

Bottom line, the Lions will not be able to trade down to anyone unless they want to trade down to #10 or greater. Won't happen. Lions are stuck. Pick is likely to be Jammer now, and I can't argue that. In fact, I don't care who DET picks at #3, they need more than the first round to be 'successful' in the draft.
