Hakim: a smurf who has trouble catching the ball in traffic

Detroit: No strong armed QB's who can throw deep

Hakim: a fast smurf who relies on getting down field

Is this a bad fit or what? Especially with other bigger WR's available like the Bears Marcus Robinson. Robinson and Crowell would have given the Lions a great combo. What's going on in the Lions front office? I can't see it (signing Hakim).

While I am not totally sold on Hakim I think speed is a much better fit in the west coast offense then slow big guys like Herman Moore. Marcus Robinson was good but has he even recovered from last years injury yet? Mike Mcmahon has avery strong arm and many of the west coast plays are quick hits over the middle not downfield.

West coast offenses are short pass offenses. Rice made a killin' by catching short routes and breakin' em into long plays. Az can do that. Matter of fact he just may fumble (as Rice did against the Giants) too Neither James Stewart nor Lamont Warren is a good fit for that kind of offense IMO I'm one of the few that like McMahon. That guys got moxie, I'd be curious how he would lead that team if they gave him a full season. They should go with him and draft a RB instead of a QB. Marcus and Germaine are gimps. They gotta pass physicals and got a whole lotta baggage, because of that IMO Hakim is a safer pickup.

Both of these guys have missed serious time due to injury, and who knows if they will ever get back to 100%. Not saying Hakim is going to tear it up, but I'd rather have him vs. Rob or Crow, especially at the

You obviously haven't watched the Lions in the past 5 years or you would have known that Herman Moore is WASHED UP.

Not a true statement and so off base, I'm wondering if it's troll bait.

Not particularly relevant for the purposes offered by you.

Not true. His high yards per catch are due more to R.A.C. yards - not in catching the ball deep.

M-Rob is a spent bullet - and Crowell is a big risk in that regard. Am I saying Hakim will light it up? No. But I am refuting some of what you consider to be 'givens'.

Herman Moore has been injured, and may not be washed up. Mike probably thought Jerry Rice was washed up. Unlike RB's, e older guys can bring it as #2 and #3 WR's see Fryar, Irving; Rice, Jerry; Ellard, Henry; Monk, Art; Lofton, James etc.

I'll hae someone explain to you who they are Mike.

And Bubba, thanks for acknowledging me as your King.

Most successful WCO receivers are big. OK David - name some really great small WRs who have done well in a WCO.

David - for a WR like Hakim who has trouble catching the ball in traffic to be valuable, he must be paired with a QB who can stretch the field. Look at the Bucs last year. Jacquez Green = Az Hakim clone (fast but can't go across the middle) . Jacquez Green didn't do squat last year because Brad Johnson has a dishrag arm and can';t stretch the field. With a QB with a cannon arm like Jeff George, a Hakim or Jacquez Green is valuable. With a weak armed QB like Batch or Brad Johnson, a speed only WR is useless. He didn't catch many balls over the middle, Warner went to him with the long ball in the corners.

Robinson may be an injury risk (don;t know his medical status details) but why spend a lot of money on a one dimensional WR when that money could get a better one.

Hakim reminds me a lot of fellow smurf Bert Emmanuel who was with the Lions last year. I think he will be equally effective.
